A modern dramatic musical production that is soaked in Hip-Hop culture. With a feel and flow of the lives of two stepbrothers, as they navigate through loss, jealousy, friendship, and dreams; Beatbox - A Rapparetta is performed in rhythm, rhyme, dance, urban fashion, graphitti, vocal drumbeats (beatboxing), and the art of DJ'ing.

In this rolling world premiere collaboration with the North Carolina Black Repertory Theatre and the Ensemble Theatre the World renowned poet, author, and activist Maya Angelou takes the audience on an epic journey through her astonishing life story. From the trauma that thrust her into mutism, to the awakening that inspired her to write "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," we will learn how this Phenomenal Woman developed one of the most celebrated voices of all time.

Diaspora artist Vivalda Dula World Premiers body of work "MBandu Ni Mbandu" at the NEW/NOW: The Houston Artist Commissioning Project.
in a 20 minute live performance set accompanied by her band, Vivalda Dula, a percussionist, singer/songwriter unveils her new guitar skills, her new body of work on Friday - February 24th, at the Cullen Theater, Wortham Center in Houston, Texas alongside other 3 commissioned artists; namely play-writer Tazeen Zahida, composer/cinematographer J.E. Hernandez, and award-winning composer, author, educator, and artistic director Anthony Brandt.
Born in the city of Luanda, capital of the Republic of Angola, Vivalda now resides in the city of Houston, Texas (USA). Her band included David Craig on electric and Upright Bass, Greg Petito on Guitar, Ilya J. Kolozs on Drums and Percussion, and L.G. LaFleur on Background Vocals.

The NEW/NOW: The Houston Artist Commissioned Project was launched in 2020 by The Performing Arts Houston, to promote and sustain Houston's working artists and artist communities, by supporting new works from all performing arts disciplines.

Consul General of The Republic of Angola in Houston, Texas Her Excellency Ana Paula Do Nascimento is one of the individuals to be awarded at the 9th Annual TOP 30 Most Influential Women of Houston awards ceremony.
Appointed to the position of Consul General in December of 2019, H.E. Ana Paula Do Nascimento has been very active in her efforts of engaging the student, diplomatic, and resident Angolan communities resident in her areas of jurisdiction, and in promoting the new image of the Republic of Angola as a country with many business and economic opportunities as well great lace for tourism.
The 9th edition of this event that gathers the most influential and powerful women in the Houston, Texas will take place on Friday - September 16th of the current year.

The Houston newcomer promises an experience that will not only unite the diaspora local community; it will also bridge the gap between the Diaspora and the African continent.

Diaspora artist Valee Music "UK's 1st Lady of Amapiano" releases a new single titled "Ngokwakho". Following the release of her hit "Sondela", the new release "NGokwako" or "It's Yours" if literally translated to English is an Amapiano track.
Amapiano is a Southern African hybrid style of house music that fuses Zulu, Kwaito, Bacardi, and Jazz.
